Laboratory Testing

WPC performs a wide variety of laboratory tests to support field construction activities and evaluate geotechnical and environmental engineering concerns. WPC has sophisticated laboratory equipment to perform a wide range of testing of materials including soil, concrete, masonry, steel, and asphalt. WPC’s Engineers direct lab testing and are involved in the quality control of the lab.

WPC meets the laboratory requirements for AASHTO accreditation in each of our five in-house laboratories for testing Portland Cement Concrete Aggregate, Hot Mix Asphalt, Aggregates, and Soil. As members of the AASHTO sample proficiency program, we test samples of soil, concrete aggregates or asphalt for comparison to other laboratories around the United States to regulate the accuracy of our test results. The Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) also inspects our laboratories for the testing of Concrete. We perform all tests in accordance with the appropriate test procedures including American Standards for Testing Materials (ASTM), ACI(American Concrete Institute), and AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials).
