This contract required extensive testing and inspections during the construction of Cane Bay High School. Areas of responsibilities included evaluating the footings for the retaining wall on Cane Bay Boulevard. Soil evaluations were performed through Dynamic Cone Penetrometer testing. Soil density testing for parking and building areas were also required. Special Inspections of masonry, reinforcing steel, structural steel, and concrete were completed.
WPC has over 40 OSF (Office of School Facilities) Certified Inspectors on staff to perform the work, documentation and reporting. Although special inspections are relatively new to South Carolina, we have been performing special inspections since they were adopted in North Carolina in 2002. WPC’s experience includes schools, office parks, multi-unit residential complexes and resorts.
Through extensive experience, WPC utilized a cost-saving, hybrid approach of combining special inspections and quality assurance testing to reduce redundancies.
